Before setting up as a VA in October 2023, I opted for a more 'child-flexible' approach to life, and spent my spare time volunteering for charities and community projects in East London. This included assisting primary school children with reading during Covid (online lessons), mentoring children and adolescents at several inner city schools, spending time with those receiving hospice care, helping in TEFL classes for socially-excluded women, and getting stuck into a local gardening project with people in recovery.

Prior to that I worked as a PA in London to several FTSE 100 companies, and before that I worked in editorial and publishing in Hong Kong. Woven into the mix, a few adventures: crewing on a yacht, managing a landscaping project, teaching yoga, learning dance in West Africa.

I love being outside in wild open spaces - near the ocean, up a mountain. And I also love to dance, listen to music, potter in my garden, bask in sunshine and to play, whether that is being mercilessly beaten at a game of chess (I'm an amateur!), playing Cluedo or an escape room game with my daughter, or simply messing about with some of the beautiful dogs I look after.
